Captioning Video Movies & Television Programs

We are all aware that captioning video movies and television programs is intended for people who cannot hear audio or may have difficulty in comprehending the spoken language. The transcripts are an important component for adding captions to multimedia content. The production controllers determine the specifications and formats of the transcripts required, it may or may not be in a verbatim format.

There was a time when captions were embedded to video movies and television programs manually to each and every sequence, but now different software programs enable adding captions in one swift operation, the only criterion is that the transcript format and the templates are unique to the software that is used, each captioning software will thus require a different transcript format.

The transcription service providers should have the ability to document the transcripts in XML (Extensible Markup Language) apart from standard formats such as.txt,.doc,.xls, and.HTML. khmer drama and Sub-titling services are required for Broadcast Captions, DVD Subtitles, Web Video Captioning, Podcast Captioning, Video Sharing, Lecture Capture Captioning.

While Google Video and You Tube allow free caption adding facilities to video clippings, other video sharing websites like Metacafe, Dailymotion, Vimeo, Rever, Veoh etc do not have this feature, so if video clippings have to feature on these websites a transcript will be a basic requirement by the captioning service providing company.
